Downswing

Learning Poker
A downswing is a bad care in your game; you lose even if you play correctly. A card simply does not help. At such times it is necessary to be aware of the following:
Be careful to tilt
If you lose even playing properly for a period of time can easily enter a state of mind called ’tilt’ – an emotional state that makes it impossible that you play poker at the highest capacity, leading to more losses due to decisions that have not been taken routinely. In most cases this state of tilt is caused by a bad beat or a downswing. You should avoid at all costs tilt, because in that state you can not make good decisions. If you feel that the tilt should get up from the table and take a break to protect your bankroll and to regain your power of concentration.
Avoid making irrational changes in your game
A downswing you can no longer be sure of your game and change your usual style of play. This can be very harmful and should be avoided in most cases, although short term it seems that this change is good. That does not mean it is good to enrich your knowledge of poker, but avoid abandoning strategies that have proven successful, such as a tight-aggressive style of play.
As you can see, it is vital, though difficult to cope with a downswing as they should. Follow the tips above and you can get through such times and to feel comfortable playing poker when luck is on your side again.

Upswing
An upswing is the opposite of a downswing. It is a time when you get the very lucky at the right times and you win more than normal. When things are going so well, poker is very relaxing and this state gives you extra confidence. However, periods of upswing can be dangerous. In such moments you can overestimate their skills as a poker player and play too many hands or make too many bluffs. It is very easy to auto convince you can not lose and make mistakes without you realize. This should be avoided at all costs.
The biggest mistake you can make during a period of upswing is to play at higher limits, just because you won a large sum of money in a very short time. This can be disastrous, because eventually you will not have as much luck and you can lose your entire bankroll. Thus, a good bankroll management is necessary both for a period of upswing and downswing for a period.
Conclusion
In poker luck is a factor over which you have no control and can play an important role in the short term. On the other hand, just that make poker a game so interesting and exciting – if the good players would always win, poker would be boring. Fortunately, players will always win the best long-term, and the ability to pass safely over periods of bad beat, downswing and upswing, and a good bankroll management will help you win long term.
